Spring Newsletter

Hello Friends,

This Spring is dazzling us with luscious weather and prolific growth and bounty from the plant nation. The peonies in my garden are simply divine, some silky white with tinges of pink in the heart of the saucer sized blooms and others a magenta that shimmers in the sun. Their aroma fills the room. Deep purple salvia spikes, lavender with the little flags on top, irises a plenty, pink and red roses, and honeysuckle with cascades of orange and pink blooms adorn the yard . The clematis is reaching for the heavens but has not yet birthed its purple star flowers. Aaahh… the season of greens of all shades and depths from that early lime green of new growth to the rich greens of shiny foliage. The spring rains bathe the landscape and nourish us all. Our color palette is full and the senses enlivening. The birds are singing their waking up songs with glee!

Today my son gifted me a day of work, building a garden fence so we can grow food and keep the deer at bay. It is a perfect day! In this community alone there are many people needing prayers, healing and support of all kinds so kneeling on this mother earth I am offering up prayers for the people near and far facing challenges at this time. May you feel our love and support.

A friend shared a book with me this week called “Earthing” which scientifically proves what Native Americans have said for so long. We need to stand barefoot on the earth everyday to ground our energy and connect the circuit between sky and earth energies to get back in balance. Check it out!

As we prepare for this summer’s Vision Quest which will be July 11-16 at Big Butte, we are raising funds to support this beautiful ceremony as these questers prepare to go up on the mountain to seek their vision. We are having a yard sale on Saturday May 28 in Durham (see below). If you have items to donate for sale or can stop by we would so appreciate it. Call Miriam in Chapel Hill 919 304-5754 or Amy in Durham 919 597-8740 to donate your treasures to the next family or friend in the great circle.

AND there has been a request for a FIREWALK so it is happening Friday June 3rd, see the details below. Our Elder Rich Myers will be visiting and sharing this ceremony with us. Please let Miriam know if you are called to attend.

In gratitude for all life,

Miriam

You will have the opportunity to shed beliefs, feelings, thoughts, relationships or anything else that is hampering your ability to be fully and completely who you are by offering them to the fire. We will witness each other as we make new agreements with ourselves and dream our lives into being. We will feed the holies and ask their assistance in recreating ourselves, our thoughts and our lives as we wish them to be. The choice is always ours!

When we work with the guides and helpers that are available to us, invite our medicine ancestors and honor the old ways and our elders, the doors of spirit healing open to us. Firewalking is an ancient ritual that teaches people to reach beyond their limiting beliefs. In so doing we bring greater balance and beauty into our lives and spark our ability to co-create our personal dream. Many people say this evening program is the most transformational experience of their life. Whether you walk on the coals or not, you will feel empowered and inspired!

The intent is to align with the elemental energies of the fire and ignite the fire within each of us. Being with the fire allows us to step through our fears and become the people we are meant to be. The evening with the fire allows us to merge with our own spirit ...fueling our passion and enthusiasm for what we desire to create for our lives.
This intent is made possible by spending the evening working with the fire and, if we choose to, walking over the coals. However it is not required to walk in order to align with this element. The decision to walk the coals is between you and spirit, and an amazing experience, whether you walk the coals or stand by those who do.

Blessings and thanks for reading.
