It was fantastic! Much is happening this autumn and we are all having to make choices. I’m still reading and learning from the new book Power Up Your Brain by Alberto Villoldo Ph.D and David Perlmutter, MD. They merge the best of shamanism, neuroscience and functional medicine (nutritional healing) into a great program to heal our brains and build our energy. Once my cleansing of seasonal pollen or whatever has gotten me is cleared I’ll be jumping in with that.

We had a beautiful sweat lodge last month and a community member is bringing some wood today in preparation for the next and the next… Let me know if you are called to request a lodge for yourself or for the community or wish to support in any way.

Here at Drumsong on November 4th we’ll have a Drum Birthing Ceremony with Zoe Allison followed directly by the Day of the Dead Fire Ceremony. I hope to see you around the fire in ceremony as we honor our ancestors, our lineage, and offer and seek forgiveness in this great circle of life. See below for details.
Then over that weekend (Nov 5-6) Zoe is offering the first two levels of the Light Language training at Jordan Lake which looks amazing! .This weekend (Oct 28-30) Zoe Allison and Will Rockingbear will be in Winston-Salem, keep reading for the details.

May the dazzling colors and zest of Fall energize you and bless you with inspiration for your inward journey. As we encircle the fire with the leaves blowing around us, let us also dismantle our old growth and let it fall away making room for the dreaming time to come, the incubation of how we will transform as our roots systems sink deeper in to the earth feeding us at the core level. Come heal yourself and the seven generations in your circle of life.

Miriam/Windsong Woman

Drum Birthing Ceremony (for those who made drums with Zoe or have new drums)
Friday November 4th at 6:00- 7:00 pm Bring a snack 7:00 to 7:30 followed by Day of the Dead Fire Ceremony 7:30 till finished
Friday November 4th to circle up with us and our drums in the ceremonial birthing from 6-7 pm. Bring gifts for adorning our drums to gift to one another and/or pass around (preferably not sharp items that can injure our drums). I hope as many as you as possible can join us even though some of you live a distance from here. We will birth them together and then those who wish to stay for the Day of the Dead Fire Ceremony right afterwards are welcome . We’ll have a table for offerings of food to share if people wish to snack a little (simple finger foods are best, perhaps your ancestors favorite foods) before entering into the ceremony to honor our ancestors and to feed the holies.

Please let me know if you will be able to join us and please be prompt as the evening unfolds from this ceremony into the celebration of our lineages and those who came before us. There will be a large community altar to place sacred medicine pieces on, flowers, photos, foods, candles (bring tea lights) to light the way for them to join us at this fire. Hope to see you then

Fire Ceremony
Friday November 4 Day of the Dead 7:30 pm till late
Sunday December 18 4:00-7:30 Winter Solstice
Join us for a Fire Ceremony to release what no longer serves you. Come feed the eternal flame as we circle round the sacred fire . The Day of the Dead is a festival south of the border that celebrates the circle of life. Communities honor their loved ones with altars, processions and picnics to the graveyard, multitudes of flowers, candles, their favorite foods, drinks, photos, story telling. We honor them and what they have gifted us. We can also heal new and old grief, hurts and sorrow with the support of a loving community. We can make new agreements with them as their spirits are no longer entrapped in the body and personality but are free to love unconditionally .Take strength, courage, love, light, growth, resilience, clarity, innocence, playfulness, joy away with you.

You will have the opportunity to shed beliefs, grief, feelings, thoughts, relationships or anything else that is hampering your ability to be fully and completely who you are by offering them to the fire. We will witness each other as we make new agreements with spirit and dream our lives into being. We will feed the holies and ask their assistance in co-creating ourselves, our thoughts and our lives as we wish them to be. The choice is always yours!

“We spend our lives for-getting that living is for-giving.” Dean Fraser

If you are drawn to be here please call or email Miriam at (919) 304-5754 or melieber@mebtel.net so I’ll know how many people to expect and give you directions if needed. Come prepared for outdoor conditions. ….Bring, an outdoor chair, drums, rattles, water. I invite all women to wear a skirt or sarong over pants to honor our sacred grandmothers and the circle of life. There is never a fee for ceremony but Gifting is appropriate and appreciated to support the life and work of the elders who dedicate their lives to keeping the old ways available.

Bi-Weekly Shamanic Teaching & Healing Circle at Drumsong
Every Other Thursday 7:15 pm -9:30 pm
Remaining 2011 Dates:
Oct. 27, Nov 10, Dec 1, 15, 29

xplore the world of your dreams and partner with your spirit helpers to trek deep within and become a spiritual warrior on the path of peace. Light Language can move you into operating with a quantum shift in attitude for your own therapy. You will be using the tools of geometric shapes and the color waves of the spectral lights of creation. Your own concentration will have attitude shifts for your therapies.

You will learn to communicate at light speed by writing light with specific patterns to create profound healing and transformation for yourself and the lives of your loved ones.

The Mayans have given us many levels of teachings through their sciences of Art, Architecture and Math. They have been marking and calculating our earth celestial movements in the sky. Astonishingly these calculations have shown us how powerful we truly are. We are pure conduits of Universal energy God's energy. We are capable of creating miracles. In this place of inner truth we can find inner peace and harmony.

Find the joy of the journey deep within. Where you can reform patterns nolonger needed and prepare to shatter old beliefs of your domestication. Learn new respect for the communal dream. See beyond restrictive fragments of your personal ego. Discover your own souls work. Light language, using the colored light frequencies and Sacred Geometry will give you the skills of your Life's Mastery.
Transform your life with the power and wisdom of these ancient teachings. You can experience dreaming your life into reality. You can co-create gifts with Spirit. Find a clearer connection with your inner Gods and Goddesses, helpers, guides and protectors.

These teachings will deepen your respect for Mother Earth and our ancestors. They will give you a new respect for our position in the cycles of time and creation. Light Language will help you find a place of inner peace and harmony knowing that you are co-creating on the deepest level with Creator. You only need to enter in with clarity of mind and open heart. Be willing to move away from a place of expectations, preconceptions and prejudices. This is a rich transformational teaching for claiming yoru personal power and breaking old patterns of mistrust, limitation and grief.
888 Light Language uses Sacred Geometries and vibrations of color light. Matching Geometrical shapes and pairing these shapes with colors to create patterns to realize perfection. Sacred Geometrical shapes form the building blocks of the universe. Specific shapes and patterns occur repeatedly in nature. Sacred geometries are paired with colors to create outcomes of health and well being in the situations of our lives. Freedom can be co-created in new forms for the benefic of all sentient beings. Even genetic or habitual energies can be shifted with Light Language. The prayers (directives) are clear and direct, free of contamination that words carry; and from this clarity, the universe responds as asked.

This is more than positive thinking and can move people or situations from suffering and distress with insight and reverence for Mother Earth. Please join us for this Shamanic gathering. Many people have made Light Language a profound part of their life. These teachings can be found to be a perfect and powerful place to allow transformation.

Empowered by the Mayan's teaching of the Sacred Days, learn how to tell the truth, so that the blood within can ignite the Solar Fires of the Sky Clans.

Discover how to empower yourself, your clients, your family, and your friends. Learn how to raise your vibration and align yourself with your purpose.

Give yourself this gift.
We are the Artists, Healers, Visionaries and Warriors; we have been waiting for. The peonies in my garden are simply divine, some silky white with tinges of pink in the heart of the saucer sized blooms and others a magenta that shimmers in the sun. Their aroma fills the room. Deep purple salvia spikes, lavender with the little flags on top, irises a plenty, pink and red roses, and honeysuckle with cascades of orange and pink blooms adorn the yard . The clematis is reaching for the heavens but has not yet birthed its purple star flowers. Aaahh… the season of greens of all shades and depths from that early lime green of new growth to the rich greens of shiny foliage. The spring rains bathe the landscape and nourish us all. Our color palette is full and the senses enlivening. The birds are singing their waking up songs with glee!

Today my son gifted me a day of work, building a garden fence so we can grow food and keep the deer at bay. It is a perfect day! In this community alone there are many people needing prayers, healing and support of all kinds so kneeling on this mother earth I am offering up prayers for the people near and far facing challenges at this time. May you feel our love and support.

A friend shared a book with me this week called “Earthing” which scientifically proves what Native Americans have said for so long. We need to stand barefoot on the earth everyday to ground our energy and connect the circuit between sky and earth energies to get back in balance. Check it out!

As we prepare for this summer’s Vision Quest which will be July 11-16 at Big Butte, we are raising funds to support this beautiful ceremony as these questers prepare to go up on the mountain to seek their vision. We are having a yard sale on Saturday May 28 in Durham (see below). If you have items to donate for sale or can stop by we would so appreciate it. Call Miriam in Chapel Hill 919 304-5754 or Amy in Durham 919 597-8740 to donate your treasures to the next family or friend in the great circle.

AND there has been a request for a FIREWALK so it is happening Friday June 3rd, see the details below. Walk for yourself, for spirit, for joy, for life, for healing. Walk in celebration.
The evening with the fire allows us to merge with the fire…fueling our passion and enthusiasm for what we desire to create in our lives. Walking the coals is not required to benefit from this expansive experience and align deeply with our own fire.

Friday June 3 from 6:00 pm till …..
Arrive at 6:00 pm to learn about and prepare for the ceremony,
Wear clothes to be comfortable outdoors rain or shine
Cost: $50.00 (couples $75.00) (Students $30.00)
(Repeaters 40.00) (a few work scholarships are available)

Bring food to share afterwards (optional)
Limited to 25 participants, Call for more info or mail registration to:
Miriam Lieberman at melieber@mebtel.net or 919/304-5754
1920 Western Trail Chapel Hill, NC 27516
http://www.drumsongsanctuary.com/
(directions given at time of registration)

Firewalking is an ancient ritual that teaches people to reach beyond their limiting beliefs. In so doing we bring greater balance and beauty into our lives and spark our ability to co-create our personal dream. Many people say this evening program is the most transformational experience of their life. Whether you walk on the coals or not, you will feel empowered and inspired!

The intent is to align with the elemental energies of the fire and ignite the fire within each of us. Being with the fire allows us to step through our fears and become the people we are meant to be. The evening with the fire allows us to merge with our own spirit ...fueling our passion and enthusiasm for what we desire to create for our lives.
This intent is made possible by spending the evening working with the fire and, if we choose to, walking over the coals. However it is not required to walk in order to align with this element. The decision to walk the coals is between you and spirit, and an amazing experience, whether you walk the coals or stand by those who do.

Blessings and thanks for reading.

Hello Friends,
The month of January has completely gotten away from me as I stoke the fire and cook soup for the soul warming body and spirit. The ice beings stayed in our little wooded world for quite some time and have now left the landscape damp and muddy. Keeping the birdfeeders full and the woodstove going are my focus along with quiet contemplative time to work on medicine pieces and restore my roots. The sun is shining brightly on this brisk wintry afternoon stirring the urge to grow green and tall beneath the earth’s surface.

It is time to dream and imagine the world we wish to live in so we can come out of the gates this spring ready to create ourselves in that image once again. We are our thoughts and we have the power to be who we most wish to be. But first take this winter time to revel in who you are now, how you got to this point in time, what have you accomplished, how have you seeded your life and what has grown? Spend some quiet time just appreciating who you are and the loved ones in your life. If we can treat our families with loving kindness, generosity and honest communication then we are on the way to creating a world of people who are generous, honest and kind. Ram Dass once said, “If you think you are enlightened, go home for a week.” Let us practice peace- making with every breath we take and let it begin within. Here’s some of what I’m dreaming up for 2011, more to come...
In gratitude for you,

Miriam

FIRE CEREMONIES

Sunday March 20 5:00-8:30ish Spring Equinox
Sunday June 19th 7:00-10:00ish Summer Solstice
Friday September 23 6:30-9:30ish Fall Equinox
Saturday October 8 5:30-8:30ish Yom Kippur (Day of At-One-Ment)
Sunday December 18 4:00-7:30 Winter Solstice

Join us for a Fire Ceremony to release what no longer serves you. This is a lodge for people of all ages to come and bask in the womb of the earth mother and the gentle teachings of our grandmother Sharon.

Rev. I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to tap into their fullest sense of their creative self."

Robin Lynne, Rainbow Feather, Intentional Healing

"The drum making workshop was and continues to be an amazing experience for me. I had no conscious experience with drums or drumming in this lifetime and was expecting a kind of fun and light "craft" workshop with a Native American flavor. Instead I found the ritual, hard work and reverence for what I was creating to be serious and profoundly meaningful and healing." - Patricia Dee, Astrina Living Art

2010 Fall Newsletter

Good Morning Friends,
Ahhhhh, the air is cool this morning and the ground dewy soft as the autumn slowly breathes itself into this smoldering land. We planted a fall garden yesterday and the little baby plants are raising their morning faces to the sun as their roots begin digging deep into the warm soil drawing up into themselves the earth’s essence. The promise of life lives in them and in us as we face each day with love in our hearts and in our actions. We do this one interaction at a time, drawing the essence of life up through our feet and releasing it on our breath, with our words, touch and thoughts. My teacher reminds me that our thoughts are our prayers so let us keep our thoughts full of kindness, grace, abundance, gratitude, clarity, forgiveness, strength and love for all beings, but especially ourselves at this season of returning our gaze inward.

As the hummingbirds prepare for their flight south and the butterflies drink the last summer nectar, the peppers, tomatoes, basil, zinnias, okra, and eggplants fill our harvest baskets let us remember what is lush and vibrant in our lives, let us be grateful for this green home.
Miriam

FIRE CEREMONIES

Friday September 17th 7:00-9:30ish Yom Kippur Day of At-one-ment

Sunday October 31st 5:00-8:00ish Day of the Dead Ancestors Altar

Sunday December 19th 4:00-7:00ish Winter Solstice
This ceremony will take place as Yom Kippur begins, a time of holding oneself lovingly accountable for one’s deeds and actions the prior year. This is a time to get in right relations with ourselves and Creator, to seek and offer forgiveness to ourselves and others. It is also the season of the Green Corn Ceremony, to give away our excess, to clean out our cupboards and keep only what we need. In the old ways the previous year’s grain was offered up in flames as the new grain is brought in for another year of grateful abundance. We recommit to live our lives freshly with respect, gratitude, renewed vigor and trust that we always have what we need.

Join us for a Fire Ceremony to release what no longer serves you. You will have the opportunity to shed beliefs, feelings, thoughts, relationships or anything else that is hampering your ability to be fully and completely who you are by offering them to the fire. We will witness each other as we make new agreements with ourselves and dream our lives into being. We will feed the holies and ask their assistance in recreating ourselves, our thoughts and our lives as we wish them to be. The choice is always ours!

Bi-Weekly Shamanic Teaching Circle at Drumsong
Thursdays 9:45 am -11:45 am

Dates: 2010: Sept 9, 23, Oct 7, 21, Nov 4, 18, Dec 2, 16, 30

Explore the world of your dreams and partner with your spirit helpers to trek deep within and become a spiritual warrior on the path of peace. Each week’s skills will build upon the next, stalking our inner obstacles and finding our power through impeccable action. We will journey with the sacred drum each week. Learn to get out of your own way and bring spirit through serving as a hollow bone in all your endeavors. When we work with the guides and helpers that are available to us, invite our medicine ancestors and honor the old ways and our elders, the doors of spirit healing open to us. Come be a part of the magic.

A contribution of $20- $25 per circle is suggested. May spirit always be your guide.

Arapaho Little Boys and Girls Sweat Lodge Ceremony at Drumsong Sanctuary for the Soul led by Sharon Mitchell

Saturday, October 23 Sweat Lodge

Bring yourselves and your prayers to this lodge. As the water is poured over the sacred stones the steam will carry our blessings to creator and assist us to purify. The name of this lodge refers to an Arapaho tradition that is gentler and more flexible than some sweat lodge traditions but does not mean that is intended only for children as I have been asked this question often. This is a lodge for people of all ages to come and bask in the womb of the earth mother and the gentle teachings of our grandmother Sharon.

Rev. Sharon Mitchell has been honored with the passing down of the tradition of this Arapaho Nation sweat lodge. She has been on the Red Road, living Native American Spirituality for over twenty years.

Her experience will inspire you to discover the power that you carry within you to manifest Grandmother‘s Spirit in your personal life. Rev. Sharon is a Science of Mind Ordained Minister bringing together New Thought and Ancient Wisdom in a weekly circle. Rev. Sharon is part of the Pastoral Team at the Mt. Area Hospice. She creates sacred and traditional ceremonies in her business, Ceremonies From the Heart.

Workday options: October 10, 16, or let me know when you are available to help with cutting, splitting and gathering wood and stones, raking, moving blankets, etc. If you have WOOD or STONES to offer, we are so grateful and they can be brought anytime and stacked. The preparations are part of the ceremony and are a labor of love and communion with the land, the tall standing ones, the stone people, the water and enrich one’s experience of the ceremony greatly as we joyfully do this sacred work together. Let me know when you can help and we’ll make a plan.

Please contact Miriam (919) 304-5754 or melieber@mebtel.net ) to RSVP, find out protocols, directions and ask questions. We will potluck FEAST together afterwards. I’ll send more information to those planning on attending as to how to prepare and what to bring. Directions are also available on my website www.drumsongsanctuary.com.

Spring Newsletter

DRUMSONG SANCTUARY FOR THE SOUL

Miriam Lieberman, MA, LPC

1920 Western Trail

Chapel Hill, NC 27516

(919) 304-5754

http://www.drumsongsanctuary.com/

Let us all welcome spring!

It is a beautiful transitional morning with the woodstove still warming the room while the sun beams in, lighting up the Buddha by the window. Gaia (the goddess kitty) lies in the sunny spot on the floor taking in the warmth, light and Vit D. There are yellow and purple crocus blooming and the daffodils are about 6 inches above ground. Spring is coming and we are so grateful after a real winter even here in the Triangle. I would like to express my gratitude to all the tall standing ones who provided heat over this long winter as I was still gathering wood last weekend to get through these final weeks of cold nights. With all the rain and snow we’ve had, spring promises to bring exuberance of color and renewed energy to us all. Let us celebrate with the earth as she comes alive with green, pink, yellow, and white and orange. Any day we will see the red buds, the dogwoods and the happy buttercups turning those sun rays into golden bells of light and love. Here in the Piedmont snow is a rare occurrence and invokes the magic and beauty of the north country. In the woods, by the river, two huge oak trees have come down and we stood in awe of their grandeur and size as they cleared a swath of forest with them. The ground must have been too saturated from all the rain and the last time the river jumped its banks flowing around the vast roots of these ancient tall standing ones. They have lain down their lives. We paid them homage. This is a good time to take into account all that is living and growing beneath the surface of the earth, readying itself for the sunshine of spring and all that flows within us beneath our own skin. With the crackle of the wood stove I’m enjoying this time of hibernation and quiet. Take the time to appreciate yourself today and the many connections to the life source running through your life. May we all lay down that which no longer serves us.

Please read through the offerings here at Drumsong and our extended community. I’m happy to answer any questions and to assist in anyway I can.

Peace, Love and Gratitude, Miriam
Drumsong Sanctuary for the Soul

Fire Ceremonies

Sunday March 21st 4:00-7:00ish Spring Equinox
Friday June 18th 7:00-9:30ish Summer Solstice
Friday September 17th 7:00-9:30ish Yom Kippur Day of At-one-ment
Sunday October 31st 4:00-7:00ish Day of the Dead Ancestors Altar
Sunday December 19th 4:00-7:00ish Winter Solstice
(Feel free to bring food to share afterwards)

Join us for a Fire Ceremony to release what no longer serves you.

Workday options: Saturday March 20, Friday March 26 and Saturday, March 27 or let me know when you are available to help with cutting, splitting and gathering wood and stones, raking, moving blankets, etc. The preparations are part of the ceremony and are a labor of love and communion with the land, the tall standing ones, the stone people, the water and enrich one’s experience of the ceremony greatly as we joyfully do this sacred work together.

Please contact Miriam (919) 304-5754 or mailto:mailto:%20melieber@mebtel.netto RSVP, find out protocols, directions and ask questions. This weekend I‘ve been out walking in the rain and driving past trees on fire with orange, yellows and reds. We had some cool weather and more is on the way. I’ve been stacking wood and getting ready for the cold weather. I love the smell of the wood, feeling it in my hands, hearing the thud of logs landing atop one another, splitting kindling and feeling my muscles tighten as I grip the axe and feel it sink into the end of the wood. I love the focus required to use the tools and knowing that these tall standing ones have given their lives and will also heat our home. The roses and honeysuckle have lingering blooms and the little porch lizard has moved from the flower pot to the wood pile but still greets me as I come and go. The spiders continue to catch the last of the summer’s bug harvest in their shimmering webs.

I’m heading south for a Vision Quest Ceremony so we will miss the Day of the Dead Fire Ceremony here this year, but we’ll meet at the winter solstice around the fire circle (Dec. 20th). Prior to that we will have circles here at Drumsong, a Clan Mother’s circle with Robin Lynne, a sweat lodge (Dec 5th) with Sharon Mitchell, and then in January Will Rockingbear and Zoe Allison Rockingbear return to our area for teachings, healings and drummaking. Please read the newsletter for more information.

May the vibrancy of the autumn colors illuminate your heart and bring a smile to your face in this season of great gratitude.

Peace, Love and Gratitude,
Miriam

Drumsong Sanctuary for the Soul

Fire Ceremony
Sunday, December 20, 2009 (Winter Solstice)
4:30 pm till 7:00 ish

Join us for a Fire Ceremony to release what no longer serves you. This is a lodge for people of all ages to come and bask in the womb of the earth mother and the gentle teachings of our grandmother Sharon.

Workdays: Saturday November 21 and Friday December 4

or by letting me know when you are available to help with cutting, splitting and gathering wood and stones, raking, moving blankets, etc. The preparations are part of the ceremony and are a labor of love and communion with the land, the tall standing ones, the stone people, the water and enrich one’s experience of the ceremony greatly as we joyfully do this sacred work together.

Please contact Miriam (919) 304-5754 or melieber@mebtel.net ) to RSVP, find out protocols, directions and ask questions. It is a time to work on medicine pieces and to hone our intentions for this New Year. Here at the lodge part of that is fresh paint and fresh perspective. The rains have blessed us pretty steadily replenishing our water tables and providing many gray soggy days to deepen the turn inward, to be rather than to do. I’m grateful for all the teachers in my life who remind me that joy is my birthright and that fear and anger can be transformed into trust and right action. I am learning from my teacher that generosity heals anger. I listen much these days to the chanting of the Dalai Lama and feel his commitment to non-violence in the face of great challenge as an inspiration to my life and practice.

In this time of political transition and wars that engender suffering it is a time to be the peace we pray for, to call it forth in our thoughts, actions and dreams. In a week’s time we will have a new president here and hopefully many positive changes in our nation and world. Let us each take responsibility for our own thoughts and actions, to speak our truth in loving and kind ways and hold ourselves accountable first and foremost for the healing we bring into our own lives and the lives of others. May we abundantly embody our medicine gifts and be blessed ten-fold in return for each act of kindness and generosity (to self and others) that we freely give. May this year bring us together in ceremony and healing.

With great gratitude for life,
Miriam 1/12/09

Scroll down to learn about ceremonies and classes:
At Drumsong Sanctuary for the Soul (Chapel Hill)~ (Fire Ceremonies, Sweat Lodge Feb.7, Teaching circle, drummaking, Cherokee Elder Will Rockingbear will be back at Drumsong this Spring, date TBA
At Raven Haven (Graham)~ Gods and Goddesses class with Zoe Allison.
At Flower Eagle Medicine Lodge (Winston Salem)~ visit www.flowereagle.com for Soul Healing Training, classes and ceremonies
At Healing the Heart to Heart Connection~ Soul Healing Sessions 919 545-9833

Fire Ceremony
Drumsong Sanctuary for the Soul
Friday March 20 Spring Equinox
Sunday June 21 Solstice
6:30 pm till 9:00 ish
Join us for a Fire Ceremony to release what no longer serves you. Do we see immature, weak or absent mothers and fathers? Are our kings and queens sufficiently present? Are the god and goddesses of our lives in disorder and chaos or are we showing up engaged and wholly (holy) present with our spiritual helpers. Join me in this exploration of the Goddess and Gods and how they might become more vivid, and more fully present. Knowing the shadow work in our psyches can always use some new light.
In our pre-patriarchal times, the earth as Mother was seen as the primary source of fertility but as our cultures have risen this modern time, the emphasis has shifted from the feminine as the source of fertility to the masculine. The ancient myths have used Biology, at least on the physical plane to be recognized as the union of the males and females, however on the cultural plane and the creation of civilization and technology, the mastery of the natural world, needs to employ both the Goddess and the Gods in recreating the mastery of our natural world. The primary expression for many peoples of the life-force, the libido, of the cosmos must be addressed with a new compassion of the life giving nurturing of ourselves as well as the mastery of our psyche. Allowing us to become the noble beings and create the new Earth.
This will be an empowering, delicious reference guide for modern day people working with gods and goddesses from many traditions in our daily lives. We will spend a year investigating the known strengths and weaknesses of the Gods and living our lives with assistance from the Gods. Perhaps you remember some of these from your past…Diana, Isis, Hathor, Ra, Osiris, Quetzacoaztl, Tzcatlipoca, Ceridiwen as well as others. Traditional ceremonies, messages, altars and teachings of the Gods will be employed to create an ongoing connection with our creators.
January-10 Asheville, NC and January 24 near Graham, NC
February- 11 Asheville, NC and February 7 near Graham, NC
March- 25 Asheville, NC and March 28 near Graham, NC
April- 8 Asheville, NC and April 11 near Graham, NC
May-6 Asheville, NC and May 9 near Graham, NC
All gifting is appropriate and appreciated. The sound of the rattle is magic and the ritual use of it’s energy can move us to create a deeper place of connection to ceremony within us. You will create a rattle and charge it with your own energy to assist you in calling in and working with your own helpers, guides, teachers and protectors. We will use simple techniques of sewing, painting and dreaming to create from our own inner wisdom a place where the magic of the rattle can assist us. Whether your rattle is made of hide or gourds, it will include the beings of the tree people, the four leggeds, the sacred plant people and all our relations. We will give thanks to all the beings and Mother Earth who in her abundance has given us refuge with our spirit relations who come to assist us.

Please BRING some or all of these sweet gifts from nature:
Sea shells, sea salt, seeds, beads, small round stones (corn seed size),
Any personal scissors, awls, needles, cutting boards you may prefer using.

Registration and information:
Call Miriam Lieberman at 919-304-5754 or email: melieber@mebtel.net
Deadline for registration paid in full: Saturday August, 9, $75.00 (bring a snack for yourself)
Make checks payable to: Zoe Allison
Send to Miriam Lieberman 1920 Western Trail Chapel Hill, NC 27516
Directions to Drumsong Sanctuary for the Soul will be sent upon registration or can be found at http://www.drumsongsanctuary.com/

Zoe Allison is an Artist, Teacher, Healer, Mystic, Visionary and Warrior. In so doing we bring greater balance and beauty into our lives and spark our ability to co-create our personal dream. Marada brings this primitive practice of Firewalking into our contemporary setting, giving us tools to improve our lives, while keeping alive the sacred nature of the ceremony. Many people say this evening program is the most transformational experience of their life. Whether you walk on the coals or not, you will feel empowered and inspired.

This intent is made possible by spending the evening working with the fire and if we choose to, walking over the coals. However it is not required to walk in order to align with this element. This will truly be your individual choice and an amazing experience whether or not you walk the coals.

We will be spending the evening outdoors (rain or shine) so bring what you will need to stay dry and comfortable bring your favorite snack or dish to share afterward.

Drumsong Sanctuary for the Soul Newsletter and Calendar

http://www.drumsongsanctuary.com/
Summer 2008

Bi-Weekly Shamanic Teaching Circle
Dates: June 9, 23, July 7, 21, Aug. 4, 18, Sept. 1, 15
Explore the world of your dreams and partner with your spirit helpers to trek deep within and become a spiritual warrior on the path of peace. The summer went by in a flash, a heat flash! What a remarkable show of stamina the plant beings have demonstrated week after week in this hot dry weather. I am given strength by their insistence on living, on digging their roots a little deeper, by casting their seeds out for distant rains to sprout our future landscape with. We have been feeding the deer our melon rinds and giving them water and asking them to spare the plants that are still standing with green heads against all odds. The creek is dry with no sound of the bull frogs. I hope they have buried themselves into the mud or hopped all the way to the river. A beautiful box turtle has been enjoying the shady shelter of the cavern within the grandmother beech tree here where the earth is dark and cool.

Thunder beings, we call you forth to quench the thirst of these lands and to replenish the water tables of the region, we are grateful for you and long to hear your strong voice echoing above us and to feel the rain on our skin and in our hair. The cooling of the air tells us that Fall is arriving with her colorful cloak to brighten our dusty vision with amber, red, gold, orange, yellow, crimson, umber and the magenta skyline as the October sun sets to make way for that large autumn orb in the sky. The night eagles here at Drumsong sing loudly and raucously in this season reminding us to pay attention to that which we don’t see and to give thanks for it all!

Be sure to scroll through to see all the great teachers and ceremonies coming this fall and winter. We have sweat lodge, drummmaking, teaching circles and fire ceremonies. Or you can just go to the website and check there, http://www.drumsongsanctuary.com/ or the blog http://www.drumsongsanctuary.blogspot.com/ which I’m still learning to use (patience please). I hope to see you again soon and to share sacred space and time with you or just give me a call at 919 304-5754 to connect.

In gratitude for my life and yours,
Miriam

Sacred Fire Ceremony Flyer
Mondays: Oct 8, Oct 29, Dec 3 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm
Our Monday night healing circle invites you to join us for a Fire Ceremony to release what no longer serves you. We will feed the holies and ask their assistance in recreating ourselves, our thoughts and our lives as we wish them to be. The choice is always yours!
The gifting basket will be available for your generous contribution, remembering that what we give to the spiritual sources in our lives comes back ten fold to us.

Third Annual All Souls Day Fire Ceremony. Flyer
Monday October 29th at Drumsong 7:00-10:00pm (All are welcome please rsvp)
We will honor our ancestors in a multi-cultural Day of the Dead Ceremony.
